We’ve brought you fun and entertaining videos from Jay Leno’s Garage before, including smoky burnouts with the Corvette ZR1, the Porsche GT2 and more. Today, Jay Leno spends some time with the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport. As Leno puts it after romping on the throttle, “Wow!”

The removable-roof Veyron Grand Sport is a special, limited-edition version of the W-16, quad-turbocharged, 253-mph supercar that we took out on the road back in August 2009. In this video, Leno gives a thorough run-down of the borrowed car’s major features with the aid of John Hill, director of marketing for Bugatti North America.

As much as it pains me to say this (’cause I’m no fan of the Veyron; there are at least 3 other hypercars I’d have that are all cheaper to boot), the SSC is not better than the Veyron. It may be faster, but I have three problems with it: 1, it is a shoddy design at best; not only is it ugly and forgettable, but anybody can bolt two turbos to a built SBC and make a very fast car. 2, The company name alludes to a connection with Carroll Shelby, which it has not. 3, Aero8 is a Morgan!

Well..The Bugatti Veyron is not what I call a beautiful exotic. The front has a “sad” look and the rear is blunt and boring. IMO any English or Italian counterpart has a better look. 1001hp out of 16 cylinders, 4 turbos and 16 radiators is not what I call “feat”. In fact, the SSC Ultimate Aero is able to reach 1187 ponies with half the number of cylinders and turbos and about two less liters…It is true that many cars sporting V8’s and two turbos can reach 1000 horses and speed circa 200mph. However, highway speeds above 250 (not estimated) mph seem to be a whole new level of performance for tourism cars as far as aerodynamics, suspension, transmission and tires are concerned. Furthermore, fuel mileage is rated at 18mpg city and 27mpg highway for the SSC, vs. 5mpg city and 7mpg highway(approx) for a Veyron, which means that regardless of your reaches, you can not drive the Veyron too far out of the city…Finally, at $2-million (for a Veyron), I can buy two Ultimate Aero’s and still have $600,000 I can use to throw at them an entire catalog worth of amenities…
